STL Cardinal Rants

For me, listening to Ricky Horton call a game is like jabbing myself with forks for a few hours.  And here is why.  Because he is a moron.  During the July 6th game against Colorado they were discussing how unusual it is that the Cardinals defense has been struggling.  True.  But Ricky says,

“The Cardinals are known for their great pitching first” then something else, then he listed their defense.

The Cardinals have two amazing pitchers in Wainwright and Carpenter, and I do mean amazing.  They’ve had some top guys throughout the years too and guys with freak awesome years, but let’s be honest, in the 14 years I’ve been a Cardinals fan the pitching has been continuously disappointing.  Dave Duncan can work his magic on old starters for a year or so, but the bullpen is routinely a failure.  And even when they have one decent guy, that one guy alone can’t save it.

Let’s just remember the one year the Cardinals have won the World Series in the past 14, Adam Wainwright was their closer in the playoffs.
